To support our endeavors, we are looking for an Environmental Specialist (m/f/d) to join our ESG Team for an unlimited contract in Eschborn 65760.
This is to support ESG Strategies including Sustainability Reporting, Greenhouse Gas Emissions accounting, ESG Ratings and impact evaluations. This position is central to enhancing GLOVIS' environmental, social and governance strategic plans across European entities and engagement with customers and suppliers.
ESG Strategy Management
Support the implementation of the Double Materiality Assessments, identify environmental impacts and risks to develop priority improvement actions across European entities.
Develop environmental targets aligned with reporting frameworks (e.g. SBTI, GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI) and track annual performance.
Contribute to ESG impact valuations, risk assessments and scenario analysis and develop mid/long-term mitigation strategies.
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions and Climate Reporting
Calculate and monitor Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emission on all transportation modes (air, road, rail, short sea) using methodologies based on GHG Protocol, SBTI , GLEC or ECG
Support the company’s Net Zero Transition Plan, including emission reduction roadmaps and Decarbonization programs.
Manage the complete lifecycle of GHG data collection, accounting, validation, and reporting
Sustainability Reporting
Generate legally mandated sustainability reports and track the sustainability KPIs for operations and suppliers in line with (CSRD, EU Taxonomy) and other relevant standards like GRI.
Support submission and management of ESG/Sustainability Ratings, develop corrective action plans (e.g. EcoVadis, CDP) and identify gap improvement areas.
ESG Data Analytics and Reporting
Data-driven KPI management and performance reviews of sustainability KPIs across European sites and suppliers.
Conduct data analytics and perform benchmarks of internal performance against industry standards and emerging best practices and trends.
Due Diligence and Continuous Improvement
Support the cross-functional execution of due diligence and audits in own operations and suppliers to identify gaps and remediation actions.
Assist in the response submissions for Customer Sustainability Assessment and Audits to develop corrective action plans and improve score performance.
Participate in cross-functional sustainable logistics and transportation continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
Your profile
Academic BSc degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Management, or related field
Minimum 3-4 years of relevant work experience
English fluency
Data-oriented with proficiency in MS Office, especially strong MS Excel proficiency and data analysis and visualization tools
Experience building a GHG inventory , Scope 1, 2, 3 GHG emissions calculation methodologies of GHG Protocol and GLEC is a must. Knowledge of ECG is an advantage.
Knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks and other internationally recognized frameworks (e.g CSRD/ESRS, CSDDD, GRI, UN Global Compact) is desirable
Solid understanding and experience of carbon accounting methodologies, climate related disclosures and setting science-based targets (SBTI, IMO, LCAs, TCFD
